Class description: Introduction to starting and maintaining edible mushroom patches for food, soil health, and resisting drought stress. Varieties and techniques for the best mushrooms to start within our area and everyone leaves with a Garden Giant mushroom starter patch.
Class Instructor: Ja Schindler of Fungi for the People. Ja is a mushroom cultivator, gardener, independent researcher, teacher, writer, and environmental and food justice activist. Ja is the founder and director of Fungi For The People, an organization with the mission to bring the skills of mushroom cultivation and use to a wide audience with the intent to help build resilient and ecologically enhanced relationships. Ja is an expert in the field of mushroom cultivation. His 6-day mushroom cultivation design workshops are very popular; so this is a great opportunity to get an introduction to backyard mushroom cultivation in one evening at a very affordable price.
