Tribute to Glen Neal
In Memory of Glen Neal 7/9/1940 to 5/23/2024
Since joining CMS in 2013, Glen Neal has been a mainstay at numerous CMS events. He could not get into every Field Trip, but he certainly registered for most all of them. You would also see Glen’s smiling face at most CMS meetings and as a volunteer at the annual MPA mushroom festival. If Glen was there, most people knew it. Glen was a joy to be around and just loved life and the outdoors. This paragraph from Glen’s life story published in the Register Guard, perhaps sums up Glen perfectly:
Glen loved people and he never knew a stranger, friends would laugh at how we could be hiking on a trail in the coastal mountain range and run into someone Glen knew. We could stand in a line somewhere and he would start talking to various people around us. Glen was an avid outdoorsman; he loved fishing, hiking, hunting, gardening, mushrooming, sports and any activity out of doors.
Glen’s journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of caring for others. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 30th at 2:30 pm in the Veteran’s Memorial Building, 1626 Willamette St., Eugene. In lieu of flowers, the family asks if you would make a donation in Glen’s name to Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene.
