Online mapping tools and apps like GeoForager, iNaturalist, Gaia, OnX, etc. are incredible resources for mushroom hunting. Navigating the woods or documenting your finds is only the beginning of their usefulness. Explore how mycologists and mushroom hunters gain insights into the habitats, seasonality, range and availability of species like morel, matsutake and porcini. We will reference dozens of online tools focus on a few of the best.
Trent and Kristen will have their Wild Mushroom Cookbook and Foraging Guide available for sale. If you do not already have one, this is your opportunity to obtain a signed copy of this excellent book that includes recipes and stories by several CMS members.

Trent and Kristen Blizzard are the writers of the Modern Forager blog, the creators of GeoForager mushroom maps and the authors of Wild Mushrooms – A Cookbook and Foraging Guide. Based in Florence, Oregon, Trent and Kristen (along with Benzie and Lulu, their crazy doodles) chase mushrooms across Oregon and North America. Both are certified Wild Mushroom Identification Experts and Trent is the President of the North American Mycological Association.
