Eugene Parade 2019
CMS will celebrate it’s 20th anniversary (August 13, 1999) as an official non-profit organization this year. So, we would like to start off the year with a special activity – marching in the Eugene Parade on Sunday, September 22, 2019.
The theme for the parade is “Stepin Out”, so the CMS parade entry theme will be “Stepin Out to Find Fungi”. We would like our parade entry to include a focal point of a large basket with edible mushrooms flowing out. CMS members dressed in mushroom costumes and/or mushroom hats will accompany our large basket along with costumed members carrying banners (CMS banner, parade theme banners). In all, we would like to have at least 12 volunteers to walk in the parade, but the more the merrier!
As you can see, CMS Board members have started on creating our delectable edible mushrooms for our basket. But, before we officially register for the parade, we need to make sure we have enough members committed to participating.
We will be coordinating several events to plan for the parade and make costumes and props. Don’t worry if you are not the “crafty type”, we will provide ideas, some crafting materials, and help. If you are willing to join in the fun, please complete the form below. Even if you do not want to be in the parade, you can help make costumes/props.
