CMS Enews – March 2018

This month’s Enews invites members to attend this Wednesday’s CMS meeting which will feature Tom and Sherri Eckert. Tom and Sherri are the founders of the Oregon Psilocybin Society and the driving force behind a statewide push to legalize and regulate the therapeutic use of psilocybin – the psychoactive compound found in over 200 species of mushrooms. We also introduce the 2018 Freeman Rowe Scholarship award recipients Edward Barge and Gillian Bergmann. A giant and a visionary in the world of mycology passed on to a better place this week. We provide a tribute to Gary Lincoff by letting everyone know about his many accomplishments. The Facebook roundup includes 15 previews of fungi articles in the news, plus 6 mushroom recipes, start reading! The Mushroom forecast tells you about what to expect as we transition from winter to spring mushrooms. And, the Mushroom of the month highlights Black Trumpets which still may be out there.  Lastly, we tell you about 4 upcoming fungal events you may want to join in on.
