General Meeting – Thursday October 11
The World of Mushroomers and their Quirks and Talents!
Maggie Rogers will present various pictorial items about mushrooms including paintings, cartoons and pictures. She will also show us how to ID mushrooms the “good old way” with a view master projector that includes some Alexander Smith mushrooms reels.
Maggie is from Oregon Mycological Society (OMS) in Portland. Many of you may know Maggie since she has been part of the mushroom family for a long time. She has been involved with OMS for at least 20 years, the Key Counsel for more than 10 years, and the North American Mycological Association (NAMA) for more than 10 years. She has been a professional librarian and editor of Mushroom, the Journal of Wild Mushrooming. Just one of her many duties have been to provide instruction kits to school teachers that are used to teach children about mushrooms.
Maggie is basically the local mycobusybody. She promises not to use slides or PowerPoint making it a homebody sort of evening. Help us welcome Maggie Rogers to Eugene. Our general meetings are held the second Thursday of the month and are open to the public.
Time: 7 P.M.
Location: LCC Science Bldg #16, Room 115
