General Meeting - March 12, 2009
Our CMS speaker for March 12th is Jean Rand, who will discuss and demonstrate her work with Gusto, a certified Search and Rescue Dog she has cross-trained as a truffle dog! Jean and Gusto together have found Oregon winter white truffles (Tuber oregonense), Oregon spring white truffles (Tuber gibbosum), and Oregon black truffles (Leucangium carthusianum). Jean will share fascinating details about their training process and field methods, highlighting Gusto’s intelligence, and the discipline and flexibility of their partnership to find these underground culinary fungi. The meeting is Thursday at the LCC, 7pm.
